The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Yes. This is the last hello I say to you here.

What to say... How to explain... Time changes many things. Especially in these times.

deviantART has also changed as I did since the time I registred here. I look at the things different way. dA is not the same site I loved before. It is now too commercialized, too artistically off-topic, supports false rights and opinions.

Also it is becoming littered way too much... I think this is caused by incompetent administrators & simply destructive greed for money which results in ignoring works that clearly do not belong here.

I don't like this place already. Notice word "place". I have met here a lot of nice people which I would not have met in real life. 2 years ago I met here a person who is now my very best friend.

Am I going to miss this place? Yes. And not. I will of course miss things that I experienced as good, but there were also bad which potentiate in recent times.

You may ask if I am going to delete my gallery... No I won't do that, as this would be kind of theft from my side. This are works made by me for you. It will remain so.

Because with all that injustices that there are here, It's always a good consolation to read something from people like us.
I respect your decision and I can't be oppisite to your opinions.
Moderators and Admins generally ignore our opinions, also the notes that we send them to have a better site..

man, this really comes as a surprise to me.
in the few occasions i got the chance to talk to you i repeatedly got the impression that i'm dealing with a person who's serious about the things he'd say or do.
you've always placed your thoughts and opinions thoughtful and wisely and they always meant a lot to me.
your way of speaking things out frankly and clearly while still being kind and respectful has become quite an asset which this community is now going to miss.
